Long-Term Thinking vs. Short-Term Patching

The Future Shouldn’t Be an Afterthought

Plan for tomorrow—or pay for it later. Our roads. Our amenities. Our utilities. Everything in Big Canoe needs to be maintained—and eventually replaced. That’s normal. What’s not normal is waiting until something breaks to figure out how to fix it.

We need a board that’s focused on:

  • Long-term capital planning—not just next month’s patch job.
  • Clear financial modeling so residents know what to expect, and why.
  • Coordinating efforts across departments instead of making disconnected decisions.

Smart planning lowers costs, reduces frustration, and gives residents confidence. Reactive management does the opposite.

Let’s protect Big Canoe by planning like it’s our permanent home—not a short-term stop.
