Listening Better, Responding Smarter

A Community That Listens is a Community That Lasts

Big Canoe is full of smart, thoughtful people who care deeply about this community. When residents raise concerns, ask questions, or offer ideas, they deserve more than silence—or vague replies.

We don’t need to agree on everything. But we do need to respect each other enough to listen.

That means:

  • Creating more consistent, two-way communication—not just announcements, but feedback loops.
  • Making it easier for residents to ask questions and get real answers.
  • Treating every concern with respect, even if it’s not convenient.

A few ways we could improve are:

  • Allowing property owners to attend board meetings and have adequate time on the agenda to answer questions
  • Live streaming, recording and posting video and audio all leadership meetings, with full transcripts
  • A searchable FAQ on the POA website containing answers to the most common questions sent to Ask the POA
  • Monthly Town Hall meetings involving Board Members, the GM, and department heads
  • Hold regular “Office Hours” where the GM and department heads have time set aside to be available to meet with property owners

No one person has all the answers—but together, we often do. Let’s make sure every resident feels heard, not just represented.
