False News?
Why is the POA attempting to silence people?
Over the July 4th weekend, I received the following notification that Delaine Faris, Communications Director for Big Canoe POA, had reported a post as False News.
The post is showing a chart of the number of times each Board Meeting Livestream had been viewed. The first thing I did was look at the information in the post and spot check the data presented. The data was accurate.
In an effort to better understand Ms. Faris’ claim, I sent a message to her asking for clarification. She requested a phone call, to which I responded asking her to clarify her thoughts in writing. She declined, calling the matter closed.
She never clarified why she reported the post as False News. Instead she told me “Meta offers educational content for new page administrators on this and other relevant topics.”, which feels both dismissive and condescending to me.

This all begs the questions:
- Why is our Communications Director concerned about view counts?
- Why is she reporting things as False News when they are easily verified to be accurate?
- Why couldn’t she provide a written explanation to justify of her claim?
